WHAT IS THE EYE LEVEL LITERARY AWARD?

For more than two decades, Daekyo has been discovering new breeds of writers
and literary talents through the annual Eye Level Literary Award.
In recent years, the contest’s focus has shifted to uncovering and
recognizing talented children from around the world.
Eye Level members and non-members are all invited to showcase their creativity
and take a step closer to their dreams.

    career

    Local Awards
    Local winners* will receive
    prizes designated by each office
    and will have a chance to
    compete globally.
    * If you are participating from a country that does not
    have a local Eye Level office, your submission
    will not be considered for any local awards.

    judging

    Global Judging
    Local winning entries* will be sent to
    Korea to be judged by a panel of
    experts for consideration as
    Global Winners.
    * Only a select few of non-Eye Level country
    submissions will be considered for Global Prizes
  3. 03

    medal

    Global Winners
    3 contestants for each category
    will be selected and awarded the
    prestigious ELLA Global Grand,
    Gold, and Silver prizes.

Participants

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Illustrated Writing 4 to 9 years of age
Anyone, including non-Eye Level members are invited to participate. Participants will draw about the given topic and add a short description to it.
Writing 10 to 15 years of age
Anyone, including non-Eye Level members, is invited to participate. Participants will write about the given topic within 3-4 pages.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
  • Submission of Entries Jul. 01 ~ Jul. 31 *

    *Registration period and submission deadline may vary by country. Click the “ILLUSTRATED WRITING” or “WRITING” button on this page to find out the actual registration period and submission deadline for your region.

    Participants are to print the age-based template from the
    link in the registration confirmation email and submit their
    work no later than the indicated deadline. Submissions can
    be made online through the link provided in the confirmation
    email.


    NOTE OF CAUTION: Please be advised that parents are not
    allowed to help their children with the drawing or writing of
    their submission. Help from a parent is considered cheating.
    Any child suspected of cheating will be automatically
    disqualified from the competition.

  • Local/1st Round Screening ~ October
    • Preliminary Round : Local judges will select the country’s local winners and submit the artworks for the final round.
    • Final Round : Judges appointed by Headquarters will select the global finalists from the local winners.

  • Global Winners Finalized Nov (TBD)

    Global winners will be privately contacted in November (specific date TBD) by an Eye Level representative.Winners will be publicly announced in December.

  • Winners Awarded Dec (TBD)
    • Global Awards : 3 winners from each category will be
      distinguished as below:
      Global, Grand: USD 1,000
      Global, Gold: USD 750
      Global, Silver: USD 500
    • Local Awards : Each local office will award its local winners

HOW TO BE PREPARED

Although students can practice writing and drawing with extra topics,
we do not release the actual topic publically or before the event.
Please contact your local office or nearby center(centre) for practice topics.
